Press Release

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has published latest performance figures for its Compliance Assessment Scheme (CAS). The scheme is SEPA’s method of assessing compliance with environmental licences. Chemical and Pharmaceutical companies have had another successful year in the 2011 results, with nearly all of the sector’s companies scoring ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ under the CAS.

Steve Elliott, Chief Executive of the Chemical Industries Association said “These results reflect the hard work of chemical and pharmaceutical businesses across Scotland. I would like to thank all of our companies for their efforts. We will continue to work closely with SEPA in the development of environmental policy across Scotland, to look at how we can maintain and enhance our environmental performance which at a time of economic uncertainty still remains very important to our companies and the work we do”.
